"I have tried many Leatherman plier based tools and so far this is the one I’ve enjoyed the most. The ease of use is so nice to not break nails to get the tools out. No break-in was required. It will be at my side all the time to help with the day to day tool needs."
"this tool is great. tons of useful features, and the free magnetic opening/closing system is ingenious! you can easily flip it open with one hand to access the pliers, and flip it back shut just as easily. but the pliers/wire cutters are the only thing you really need to open it for, because every other tool can be accessed while it's closed. and instead of there just being a little grove in the edge of the tools to pull them open with a fingernail, each one has a notched base on it to easily pull it open with. and each tool locks open independently. the one and only improvement I would want would be a bit driver - which is exactly what my next purchase brings to the table - the ARC."

"I had a Skeletool for years. I lost it camping and needed a replacement. I always wished the pliers on the Skeletool were more robust. The extra $60 or so is well spent, in my opinion. The tool is heavier, but is otherwise an improvement in every way. I feared the pliers would be too much after seeing it in person, but it folds into a very compact unit. Unlike the P4, it doesn’t have a bunch of extra stuff. The multi edge knife is very sharp out of the box. One handed functionality is awesome. It’s like a butterfly knife. I sometimes do miss the “hard to open” Leatherman, but not when I’m trying to use the tool one handed! I got mine at Ace Hardware. It’s been an EDC since."
"We bought these for the Bomb Squad since it's a bit more carry friendly than any of the EOD models being light, slim, and with a clip; no techs really use the powder punch anymore anyway. These are great, very easy to use and have everything we need for general busywork and complement the first line kit well. We wish the scissor was a wire stripper, like the discontinued squirt model, we'll likely try and mod it, otherwise it's perfect."
"Ive been carrying a Leatherman Multi-Tool since I was 14 years old and these new "Free" styles are God Tier. You can completely use 1 hand and access all your tools, whether the pliers closed or open. It was always a small complaint of mine with how stiff they usually were as well, but it seems they've remedied this issue, as they open like butterfly knives right out of the package ! The design is sleek and slim, with lighter weight yet more convenient with a greater ease of use. Im definitely going to get a Free P4 as well, as i appreciate having some of the more heavy duty pieces that don't come with the P2. Im 41 now and I dont see myself leaving my house without my Leatherman's.. yes I carry 2 at a time lol. Thank you Leatherman for fulfilling your societal role at mastering technician support !"

"This is the best designed and easiest to open (one handed) tool I have ever used from Leatherman. I would consider myself an EDC gear NUT! I have over 75 knives and have owned about 5 Leatherman multitools and use them to the fullest. This is the best one by a long shot. "I've been a multitool nerd since they were invented and have owned a number of them over the years. The Leatherman Free P2 is the multitool to have. It is absolutely the finest combination of incredibly sturdy tools and carry-ability that I have experienced. I carried a skeletool for the past four or five years and love the size and features, but was always wishing for a bit more functionality and sturdiness. I had looked at the Free series for years wondering if the P2 was a worthy replacement, and I finally pulled the trigger. This tool is incredible! It is very close to the same dimensions as the skeletool (just slightly heavier), which was a huge factor since I wear it clipped inside the waist band of my pants. I am extremely impressed with the build quality and the functionality of all the tools. It has everything that I need and the ease of access to the tools is the best I've experienced. It seems like a small thing, but not having to use a fingernail to access the smaller tools is a game changer. I watched one reviewer who was complaining about sharper portions digging into his hand when using the pliers, and that is simply not true for me. The pliers are a joy to use and are incredibly solid with no uncomfortable pressure points. I can't get over the exceptional design and build quality and this is truly the pinnacle of craftsmanship. Highly recommended and well done Leatherman team!"
