Arrived in terrible condition, customer service terrible

"Bought this as a gift, turned up super stiff and covered in scratches - as if it had been used already. Obviously the special gift was ruined. Unfortunately the recipient had already left for the their trip (for which the leatherman was a gift). I emailed customer service asking for them to send a replacement while the recipient was away, so that he could have it when he got back, and they were extremely unhelpful - insisted that the other item must be returned, and offered nothing else by way of goodwill gesture. To save the faff the recipient kept the leatherman, but I won't be buying from them again. Extremely disappointed."
